School Nurse Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse to join our team in Lismore. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating identification of health, wellbeing and social needs and the coordination of appropriate early intervention, assessments, and referral to services for school aged children and young people attending designated primary and secondary schools.
The role involves working in identified local schools and applying specialist clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skill in providing complex nursing care for school aged children and young people in these schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate identification of health, wellbeing and social needs for school aged children and young people
- Coordinate early intervention, assessments and referrals to services as required
- Work collaboratively with school staff and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes
- Provide complex nursing care for school aged children and young people in local schools
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing or related field
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Specialist clinical nursing knowledge and experience in paediatric or child and family health
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
