We're seeking a highly motivated Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Newcastle or Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure projects, develop project management skills, and collaborate with experts in environmental assessment and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to environmental impact assessments and planning approvals for projects, including renewable energy and transport initiatives.
  • Develop project management skills through hands-on experience and mentorship from senior consultants.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including ecologists, engineers, and designers, to create innovative solutions.
  • Support business growth through work-winning initiatives and fee proposal preparation.
  • Be part of a supportive team of passionate professionals dedicated to environmental sustainability.

You'll gain exposure to various statutory environment and planning approval processes, with potential opportunities across different states.

Our Recent Projects:

  • Early strategic environmental assessments of renewable energy projects, including emerging technologies and transport initiatives.
  • Environmental assessment and planning approvals services for major electrical transmission projects, such as EnergyConnect and the Victoria to NSW Interconnector West.
  • Planning approvals for iconic projects, including Western Sydney International Airport Airspace approvals and Inland Rail.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you'll have between 2-10 years of experience in environmental approvals and planning. You should be passionate about resolving environmental issues and shaping outcomes in your community.

Requirements:

  • Experience in authoring/contributing to environmental impact assessment and planning approvals documents.
  • A working understanding of NSW's environmental assessment and planning framework.
  • Developing project management skills in coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • A desire to build your professional brand in the NSW/ACT and national markets.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
