Job Summary

This role seeks a technically skilled Lead HSE Advisor to drive health, safety and environmental excellence across operations. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with Program Managers supporting ADF Ground Support Equipment and Counter-CBRNE contracts.

Develop and implement HSE protocols tailored to specialized operational contexts, ensuring alignment with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

  • Develop and implement HSE protocols for high-risk environments
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and audit activities
  • Advise on HSE considerations throughout the asset lifecycle
  • Interpret legislation, apply ISO standards (14001, 45001) and analyze HSE data
Key Responsibilities

As a Lead HSE Advisor, your key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing HSE protocols for high-risk environments
  2. Conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and audit activities
  3. Advising on HSE considerations throughout the asset lifecycle
  4. Interpreting legislation, applying ISO standards and analyzing HSE data
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian citizenship with a Defence security clearance
  • AQF Level 4 qualification in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or transferable engineering-related qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence or other high-risk industries
  • Strong understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, codes of practice and industry standards
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies
  • Competent in using HSEQ management systems such as Synergi Life
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
