Job Overview

Shaping health, safety and environmental outcomes in complex environments requires a technically skilled professional. We are seeking a Lead HSE Advisor to drive excellence across our operations.

This role involves working closely with Program Managers supporting Defence contracts. The successful candidate will develop and implement HSE protocols tailored to operational contexts, ensuring alignment with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE protocols aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and audit activities
  • Advise on HSE considerations throughout the asset lifecycle
  • Lead toolbox talks, mentor operational teams, and partner with stakeholders to embed a proactive, learning-focused safety culture
Requirements
  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance
  • AQF Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or a transferable engineering-related qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence or other high-risk industries
  • Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies
