Job Summary

As a key member of the Regulatory Strategy Section, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commission to deliver its functions and achieve its goal of being a best practice regulator. This involves influencing and/or leading the development of regulatory and aged care program reform, including legislative change and policy development.

Improving the quality and safety of care and service delivery for older people is at the forefront of our regulatory practice. Our approach is evidence and risk-based, strategic, coordinated and in line with best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to papers and advice on regulatory design in accordance with policy decisions and the implications of the changes for the Commission.
  • Support a complex and dynamic workload of policy development, legislative change and regulatory reform projects.
  • Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to support the Commission's business and vision.
  • Provide leadership and build the capacity of staff to undertake their roles efficiently and professionally.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in development of policy in an environment of strategic and/or legislative change.
  • Ability to understand and interpret aged care legislation.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take responsibility for managing own performance and that of the team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
What We Offer

Salary: $118,588 - $135,251 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Superannuation: 15.4%

Non-ongoing opportunity for an irregular/intermittent term.
