Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  • We drive compliance with the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, and industry best practices by providing expert leadership, training, and mentoring to our team.
  • Our team members work closely together to approve scopes for rectification of defective and incomplete residential construction work, oversee payments to contractors, and provide evidence in tribunals and courts regarding decisions and claims.
  • We contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and systems that foster a culture of excellence within our organization.
  • Each member of our team manages a caseload, conducts investigations, and prepares detailed reports on complaints related to defective building work.
  • We administer relevant legislation, including disciplinary actions against building practitioners, and interpret industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Our team prepares reports and statements for disciplinary proceedings and testifies in tribunals and courts.
  • We support the development and review of dispute resolution policies, procedures, and systems that promote fairness and transparency.

Candidate Attributes

  • A Builder's License from the relevant authority is required.
  • Possessing a current Driver's License with a good driving record; ability to travel frequently across the State is essential.
  • Apply contemporary building standards, practices, legislation, and codes within the construction industry, with demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Exhibit high-level interpersonal, consultative, negotiation, and mediation skills, along with investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, especially in technical environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills are highly valued.
