Classroom Teacher Position

A part-time Classroom Teacher position exists at a Catholic primary school in Wollongong, catering to Kindergarten to Year 6 students. The role involves creating and maintaining a structured learning environment, planning effective teaching strategies, and fostering student participation in the learning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L).
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning plans across all Key Learning Areas.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning activities.
  • Implement targeted teaching strategies in Literacy and Numeracy to enhance student outcomes.
  • Analyse data to inform student learning progress.
  • Maintain a collaborative approach with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Holding qualifications for teaching Primary K–6 is essential.
  • Accreditation for Religious Education teaching, as per To Work, Teach and Lead policy, or a commitment to achieve this within five years of employment, is required.
  • Applicants must be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to teach in New South Wales.
