Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

The buscojobs team is looking for a skilled professional to join their ranks. This role involves supporting the implementation of a global health, safety and wellbeing framework, ensuring compliance across various locations in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and internal policies
  • Supporting incident reporting and investigations
  • Facilitating risk management and hazard identification activities
  • Coordinating audits and compliance programs
  • Leading health and safety committee meetings and stakeholder engagement
  • Managing injury reporting, workers compensation and return-to-work processes
  • Supporting wellbeing initiatives aligned with our HSW strategy
  • Delivering inductions, emergency drills and training
  • Preparing internal and external reports and documentation
  • Providing technical advice and coaching to leaders
  • Supporting system transitions and finance-related projects
  • Fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess formal qualifications in Health and Safety at Work, along with experience in a similar role – preferably within retail or a fast-paced, multi-site environment. Strong communication and organisational skills, a strategic mindset, and a genuine desire to make a difference are essential for this position.
