The Role

The Senior Expert maintains a detailed understanding of procurement and contract management activities within the Department and the broader public sector. The Senior Expert will support schools and business units through capacity building and advice to establish practices and systems that enable procurement planning and good contract management and meet procurement and contract management policy framework requirements.

  • Lead strategic and forward procurement planning for buying goods and services by providing high-level advice, training, and support to business units on procurement and contract management activities.
  • Facilitate initiation documentation, service design, and policy advice to support value-for-money outcomes and compliance with the WA Procurement Rules.
  • Maintain and update the Procurement and Contract Management Framework, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with WA Procurement Rules and best practice.
  • Coordinate compliance reporting, audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of procurement practices.

Within this role you will be expected to maintain current knowledge and understanding of government procurement frameworks, policies and procedures including social procurement considerations.
