Job Description

We are seeking an experienced systems accountant to fill this key role in our financial planning and budget unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system integrity and business continuity, as well as providing support for end-users of the corporate financial management system.

  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing and administering financial management systems, particularly Technology One Financials.
  • A proven track record of providing high-level technical and user support to both finance teams and the wider business is essential.
  • The ability to lead and manage projects with a focus on customer service is also crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and administer the council's financial management systems, including implementing and configuring new or upgraded functions.
  2. Administer the Technology One, Core Enterprise Suite (Financials), including associated responsibilities for Enterprise Cash Receipting (ECR) and Supply Chain (SCM).
  3. Maintain the integrity of financial transactions and manage chart configurations, user roles, and access controls.
  4. Provide primary point of contact for system support, including troubleshooting and resolving system bugs and glitches.
  5. Oversee End-of-Month (EOM) and End-of-Financial-Year (EOFY) system rollovers.
  6. Collaborate with business units on system enhancements, developing ETL processes, creating interactive dashboards, and configuring ad hoc XLOne reports.
  7. Review and respond to Jira ticketing system queries and assist users with system-related issues.
  8. Develop and maintain operational documentation, such as policies and procedures, to ensure the system is used correctly.
  9. Design and implement internal system controls to ensure the quality of financial data.
  10. Investigate and develop system improvements and reporting functions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have a degree in Accounting, or a related field.
  • Desirable: Experience with Technology One Financials in a medium to large organization, prior experience within local government.
