Are you an experienced design professional looking for a new challenge in the field of transmission network infrastructure?

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Design Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and delivery of substation infrastructure projects.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for performing, reviewing, and approving substation civil and structural designs in accordance with Australian standards and technical requirements.

You will work closely with internal teams, design consultants, and review designs for construction projects and team deliverables.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing and reviewing substation civil and structural designs in accordance with Australian standards and Transgrid technical standards.
  • Reviewing designs prepared by external service providers for compliance with relevant standards and internal requirements.
  • Providing technical input to resolve complex multidisciplinary issues.
  • Managing design changes to ensure successful project outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in functional Civil and Structural design areas of transmission network substations.
  • Working knowledge of Australian and international standards and Codes of Practice relevant to substation design.
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Electricity Rules relevant legislation, policies, and procedures applicable to the preparation of designs and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering business systems like Bentley ProjectWise and design software, preferably Microstation, SpaceGASS, Slabs, Open Roads, Civil 3D, and 12D to develop designs.
