The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Intermediate Design Engineer for substation infrastructure projects design and delivery focusing on Civil & Structural engineering.

You will coordinate with internal teams, design consultants and review designs for construction projects and team deliverables.

As a technical expert you are able to complete complex projects with minimal support providing solutions to problems and understanding your impact on the team and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform, review, and approve substation civil and structural designs according to Australian standards and Transgrid technical standards.
  • Review designs prepared by external service providers for compliance with relevant standards and internal requirements.
  • Provide technical input to resolve complex multidisciplinary issues.
  • Manage design changes to ensure successful project outcomes.
About You
  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in functional Civil and Structural design areas of transmission network substations.
  • Working knowledge of Australian and international standards and Codes of Practice relevant to substation design.
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Electricity Rules relevant legislation, policies, and procedures applicable to the preparation of designs and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering business systems like Bentley ProjectWise and design software preferably Microstation, SpaceGASS, Slabs, Open Roads, Civil 3D, 12D etc to develop designs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team manage multiple priorities effectively.
