Support Worker Role
Our organisation is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality individual support to participants in an in-home/community setting.
- The successful applicant will promote participants' choice and control by supporting individuals to be active members of their community.
- They will also provide personal care with dignity when required, following established behaviour support and healthcare plans to empower participants to live independently.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting skills development - travel training, budgeting, safe relationships, and life skills such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning.
- Assisting participants to achieve their NDIS goals through collaborative goal-setting and support planning.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Availability to work between Monday-Saturday on a rotating roster from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (P2 and above) and access to a vehicle.
- A good understanding of person-centred active support principles or willingness to embrace this model of support.
- Comfortable supporting adult clients with intellectual disabilities, verbal behaviours, and mental health diagnoses.
