About the Role

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Professional to support a world-class rotary-wing platform as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical. This role is based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Apache Program.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of Boeing AH-64 Apache mechanical, airframe, and engine systems and associated equipment. You will work side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and meets the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components, and equipment.
  • Completing assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and certification of those activities in accordance with the appropriate Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD).
  • Interpreting Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and applying them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
  • Supervising and providing mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success.
Requirements
  • Cert IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical).
  • Sound knowledge of DASR Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework and aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
  • Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B1.3.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit, and organisational goals.
  • Good knowledge of Environment, Health, and Safety procedures.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1.
