As a leading researcher in atomic, molecular, and optical physics, you will be responsible for driving our research and development program in a state-of-the-art laboratory.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to a team of physicists and engineers.
- Design and prototype advanced optical, mechanical, and electronics subsystems.
- Optimize and ruggedize atomic sensors for real-world applications.
- Integrate, optimize, and deploy atomic sensors in diverse environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in atomic, molecular, or quantum physics, with expertise in laser spectroscopy, laser-cooling, and atom interferometry. Familiarity with Python programming for lab instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis is advantageous.
This is a hands-on role requiring a broad skill set, including design, integration, and operation of atomic quantum sensors. The successful candidate will be part of a global team of experts and have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of quantum sensing.
The position is full-time and based in Melbourne, Australia. We offer a competitive salary range, plus 11.5% superannuation, employee share options, flexible work hours, unlimited leave, and a bespoke relocation package.
