Procurement Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Category Specialist to join our team and drive value through procurement category strategies, business partnering, and end-to-end procurement projects.

About the Position

This role will create and implement key strategic procurement initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Key accountabilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for procurement enquiries, supporting and training end users on systems.
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers, running end-to-end RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and securing favourable terms.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to manage budgets, control costs, monitor supplier performance, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Assessing and mitigating procurement risks while ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and analysing supplier markets to support strategic procurement planning.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring enthusiasm, a caring approach, and a passion for making a difference. Essential requirements include:

  • 3-5 years' experience in procurement (Procurement Officer or Category Specialist level).
  • A background in aged care, medical services, or a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience using Coupa, ARM, or similar procurement systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, commercial awareness, and customer focus.
  • An analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data and assess supplier performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
