Risk and Compliance Professional

Job Overview:

The Risk and Compliance Professional plays a pivotal role in our Corporate Services team, providing critical support to the School on various risk and regulatory matters.

This dynamic position entails a varied scope of responsibilities, with a particular focus on Work, Health & Safety. Key tasks include:

  • Providing expert advice on risk management and compliance
  • Coordinating responses to regulatory requests, inspections, and subpoenas
  • Contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Advising on policy and procedure updates to reflect evolving legislation, policy, or education industry standards
  • Identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in risk and compliance
  • Assisting with the administration and maintenance of the online policy portal, staff learning system, and risk registers
  • Reviewing and advising on risk assessments for tours, camps, activities, and excursions
  • Supporting regulatory and management reporting

Key Requirements:

We are seeking a collaborative, service-oriented, and personable professional with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a risk, compliance, or assurance role
  • Prior experience with Work, Health & Safety
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and time pressures, and a willingness to be involved in a wide range of matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High-level organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels
  • Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, and in coordination with other groups within the school community
  • A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Experience in the education sector is not essential but would be highly regarded.
