Maintenance - Fitter Role Overview

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our plant and equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations to ensure safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize tasks independently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.
  • Execute emergency work orders promptly and provide troubleshooting expertise to minimize downtime.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fine tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate machining tools, including cutting, grinding, and drilling, to form metal stock and castings.
  • Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
  • Install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
  • Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Commit to a Zero Harm safety philosophy, ensuring all mechanical work complies with safety standards and regulations.
