Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to perform preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and manuals, focusing on safety, quality, and maximising production.

You will resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing/manufacturing interruptions from equipment breakdowns.

This position commits to our Zero Harm philosophy.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations for safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
  • Plan, schedule, and organise tasks independently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.
  • Execute emergency work orders promptly and provide troubleshooting expertise to minimise downtime.
  • Fabricate metal parts and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and proper fit using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate machining tools to form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.
  • Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
  • Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Maintain flexibility in work hours, including providing shift cover and responding to after-hours breakdowns as needed.
  • Commit to a Zero Harm safety philosophy.
