Conservation Manager Job Summary

As a seasoned Conservation Manager, you will play a key role in protecting and preserving Banyule's unique natural landscapes. This dynamic position requires leadership skills, experience in urban revegetation projects, and knowledge of local flora and weed species.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our team in managing over 300 hectares of bushland within close proximity to the CBD. If you have a passion for conservation, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively with stakeholders, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the Role
  • Lead planning initiatives to protect and enhance biodiversity sites, working closely with Environmental Friends Groups and volunteers.
  • Manage diverse ecosystems in an urban environment, addressing threats to conservation and implementing effective solutions.
  • Develop and oversee activities such as weed control, direct seeding, ecological burning, and flora and fauna monitoring.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate community events to promote environmental awareness and engagement.
