Biodiversity Management Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and experience towards shaping the future of sustainability.

As a key player in biodiversity monitoring and management, you will be responsible for delivering objectives and providing guidance on fauna and flora management. You will engage with consultants, support change management processes, and provide oversight to site teams.

  • Support the implementation of biodiversity monitoring protocols and procedures.
  • Work closely with specialists to provide expertise on biodiversity risks and fauna management.
  • Review and manage monitoring data and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors involved in biodiversity monitoring.
  • Support operations to maintain compliance with commitments.
  • Assist with change management by ensuring new procedures are followed across sites.
  • Monitor and analyze data to improve performance.

The role involves working with various teams, including pre-mining studies, regional environmental, and research teams, as well as external contractors and consultants.

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, zoology, conservation biology, or a related field; or post-graduate qualifications in ecology or relevant field experience.
  • Proven experience working on fauna and/or flora-related projects.
  • Experience in project management, budgeting, and contractor management is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring safe working practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and self-management skills.
  • Minesite experience is desirable.

A current driver's licence and ability to undertake 4x4 driving in bushland is required.
