Senior Category Strategist

Develop and implement strategic plans to drive commercial value and supply security across critical operational categories.

Ensure effective sourcing strategies and manage supplier engagement to maximize value and streamline delivery.

Provide expert guidance on category management, procurement processes, and workload planning to shape effective sourcing strategies and drive procurement excellence.

  • Develop and implement category management strategies across all assets for opex and capex requirements.
  • Manage industry engagement from sourcing to award, demonstrating negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design product groups that maximize value and streamline delivery.
  • Support governance, approvals, risk management, and compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in category management, contracts management, or senior procurement roles within mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, law, supply chain, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, including supplier relationship management.
  • Deep knowledge of contract law, procurement legislation, and ability to negotiate complex contractual terms.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value, high-risk contracts under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
