Professional Payroll Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-driven and experienced Payroll Professional to join our team on a 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, onboarding new starters, processing employee terminations, monitoring and responding to queries in the payroll inbox, ensuring compliance with awards, agreements, and legislation, supporting the team during periods of leave, and enabling process improvements by taking on key operational tasks.
About the Role:
- Manage payroll operations, including processing pay runs, managing employee data, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support the payroll team in day-to-day activities, onboard new starters, and process terminations.
- Monitor and respond to payroll-related queries from employees and management.
- E nsure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with the payroll team to achieve business objectives and improve processes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in payroll management, preferably in a medium to large organisation.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to interpret and apply awards, agreements, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
