The Night Shift Manager Role
This role oversees night shift operations and provides leadership as well as fostering continuous improvement in loading and manufacturing efficiencies. It maintains a strong customer focus and is based in Crestmead QLD. The position is crucial in driving Zero Harm, supporting change, accountability, and problem-solving to achieve outstanding results.
Responsibilities
- Safety is our number ONE priority. You will ensure the operation supports our successful pathway towards a national target of Zero Harm.
- You will build a culture of teamwork, drive engagement, and foster a culture of trust.
- Execute efficient loading activities and ensure timely departure of all planned loads.
- Direct night shift activities to achieve business objectives, reduce costs, increase profits, and drive volume growth.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance cross-skilling of teams and individuals.
- Collaborate with 3rd party logistics, supply chain, and other shifts to support and oversee outcomes aligned with the national operations strategy.
- Assist with the implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to enhance customer service and plant efficiency.
- Support manufacturing, supply chain, order fulfillment, and sales functions by promoting cross-team and cross-shift communication and activities.
- Participate in monthly reviews of results and develop strategies to maximize margins through cost reduction, increased market share, and profitability improvements.
Requirements
- A tertiary (i.e., Bachelor, or Diploma level) qualification in engineering or logistics is highly desirable. However, appropriate direct experience is equally valued.
- Strong people leadership and engagement skills in a team-based environment, and the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve their best.
- Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and load restraint standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines and make time-sensitive decisions in line with a made-to-order customer base.
- Preparedness to challenge current norms.

Salary
The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
