Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to spearhead our superannuation business. This role will involve working closely with the team in Sydney or Melbourne, with a minimum of two to three days per week spent in the office.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on all aspects of superannuation business, including trustee governance and licensing, regulatory issues, breach reporting, member complaints, product changes, and trustee service provider arrangements.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of superannuation laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A law degree and qualified solicitor status (at least 5 years PQE) is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to the team on superannuation matters.
  • Review PDSs and other disclosure material, identifying potential issues and advising on best practices.
  • Liaise with lawyers in the Wealth team and broader Risk and Compliance team to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Instruct external counsel to obtain specialized legal advice.
  • Conduct thorough research on superannuation laws and regulations.
  • Review board and committee papers, providing timely and accurate signoff.
