
Data Retention Specialist Leader

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of a small team dedicated to ensuring data retention practices meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
This role offers the chance to work across various departments, engaging with both technical and senior stakeholders.
- Leading a team of staff to identify, document, and validate maximum retention timeframes for business information assets containing personal data.
- Assigning, tracking, and managing day-to-day team activities to ensure outcomes are delivered on time.
- Collaborating with technical, compliance, and governance teams to implement required solutions.
- Engaging with departments and senior managers to agree on maximum retention requirements for personal data.
- Overseeing the design and implementation of controls, monitoring mechanisms, and governance processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
This is an opportunity to demonstrate your stakeholder engagement skills and ability to guide a team to achieve meaningful outcomes in data management.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading small teams and managing day-to-day delivery, as well as strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
They will also have a solid understanding of data compliance requirements, particularly principles for handling personal data.
Experience identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may impact delivery, as well as excellent organisational skills, will be highly regarded.
