About the Role

As a Strategic Communications Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping Airwallex's reputation and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your expertise in public relations, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement will help us navigate complex regulatory environments and achieve our strategic goals.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in highly-regulated industries, a deep understanding of leading industry groups, and a proven track record of delivering tangible outcomes. You will be responsible for implementing a wide-ranging stakeholder communications and engagement strategy, devising holistic engagement programs, and contributing to the development of Airwallex's messaging playbook.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan to promote Airwallex's interests and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lead media relations efforts, including providing access to senior media contacts and managing press office duties
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs team to update Airwallex's messaging playbook and contribute to key policy issues
  • Represent Airwallex as a key spokesperson and provide counsel on reputational risk matters

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in public affairs, media relations, and internal/external communications
  • Solid domain knowledge in highly-regulated industries and B2B technology
  • Direct experience working with ANZ journalists, producers, and editors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong executive presence, and management skills
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions, work across international markets, and build consensus among diverse teams
