Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our team at our global headquarters in Macquarie University and Lane Cove site. This newly created role is a permanent full-time position that requires reviewing, recommending, and implementing methods, layouts, and resources in our manufacturing areas to improve efficiency and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments of manufacturing areas to identify potential efficiency improvements
  • Record and maintain manufacturing process data, including cycle times and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Create visual maps of processes, such as Value Stream Maps and Spaghetti Maps
  • Suggest process and system improvements using Lean tools
  • Develop business cases for improvements, quantifying costs and benefits
  • Work with internal stakeholders to prioritize and direct continuous improvement activities
  • Define metrics or displays to assist manufacturing, such as visible schedules and first-pass yields
  • Design and implement efficient layouts for equipment, materials, and workspace
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean methodologies and principles
  • Knowledge of Lean tools, such as Pillar Charts and Value Stream Mapping
  • A strong passion for continuous improvement
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships
