Key Role: Injury Care Specialist
We are seeking an Injury Care Specialist to join our team. This strategic role involves providing support to team members during a challenging time in their lives, facilitating their return to work.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with key stakeholders and manage a portfolio of cases in this strategic role.
- This is a permanent opportunity, supporting teams at our Minchinbury Distribution Center and other business units.
- Actively engage in supporting team members during a challenging time in their lives to facilitate return to work.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to drive strategies and ensure early engagement in treatment, claims management, return to work, redeployment and claim closure with our third-party administrator.
- Engage with operational teams to provide training and mentoring in managing return to work and relevant legislative compliance.
- Provide support to operational teams in resolving injury management issues and in developing strategies for improvement and intervention.
- Maintain regular engagement and develop strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders including; third-party administrators, rehabilitation providers, treating health professionals, etc.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports to internal stakeholders aligned to our metrics and performance.
About the Requirements
- Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in workers' compensation and injury management, specifically in claims management end-to-end, and ideally with some exposure to self-insurance.
- Allied health qualifications will be highly regarded (OT, EP, Physio).
- A deep understanding of return to work and rehabilitation best practices, able to devise and adapt strategies for individuals based on medical and workplace information.
- A solid understanding of workers' compensation self-insurance regimes, requirements and practices.
- The ability to run injury management and return to work matters end-to-end.
- Knowledge of creating and implementing sound strategic workers compensation and injurycare practices and comfort in working independently on casework, in a team of supportive peers and leaders.
