Senior Business Development Manager

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth in Western Australia's mining sector.

This role offers a key position in expanding a national blasting services business into a major strategic market.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development activities across WA, targeting opportunities in open pit, underground, and emerging mineral sectors.
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and win high-value work with major and mid-tier mining companies.
  • Build strong relationships with procurement leaders, site management, and key decision-makers.
  • Represent the business at industry events and tender presentations.
  • Work closely with technical, operational, and leadership teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Manage the tender process from start to finish, including contract negotiations.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform strategy.
  • Keep CRM records up to date with leads, client interactions, and pipeline activity.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. Meet or exceed monthly sales targets by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  2. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients, through targeted networking and relationship-building.
  3. Contribute to the growth and success of the business by providing expert guidance and support to the wider team.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 7 years' experience in business development within the mining industry, with a strong track record in the WA market.
  • Demonstrated success securing contracts with mid to large mining operators.
  • A well-established professional network across procurement, engineering, and mine leadership.
  • Solid understanding of drill and blast services, explosives, and mining operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical capability into client value.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, able to work independently while being part of a national team.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Business, or a related field will be highly regarded.
