About the Role

We have several full-time permanent positions available for a Mechanical Fitter to join our ASX-listed Bega group business in Wetherill Park. The successful applicant will be required to work 12.5-hour rotational shifts (Day & Night), including alternative weekends.

This role aims to enhance the site's mechanical systems capabilities to increase overall equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Plan and coordinate the testing and inspection of products and processes, and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all work is carried out per safe engineering practices, as well as legal and food safety requirements.
  • Understand benchmarking and implement plans for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Prioritize safety above all else and support a safety-first culture.
Requirements
  • Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or higher.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing - FMCG/Food + Beverage industry.
  • Proficient in CMMS systems (MEX) and PC skills (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Previous experience working with dairy processing, liquid mixing or powder handling equipment, that may include pumps, valves, heat exchangers and tanks.
  • Previous experience working in an environment that utilised high-speed packaging equipment, fillers, cappers, labellers, case packers and palletisers will be highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skill – faut finding and root cause of breakdowns. Ability to work independently as well as work in a team.
