Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Raw Materials to join our team at Country Road Group. As a key member of our sourcing and supply chain team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our mill network strategy, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the mill network strategy in collaboration with the General Manager Strategic Sourcing and Production.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including strategic sourcing, cost negotiations, and performance management.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives through fabric rationalization and/or engineering-based costing.
  • Oversee and be accountable for all aspects of mill performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost management.
  • Lead, inspire, and cultivate a high-performing team that attracts and retains top talent.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in raw materials sourcing and management within the fashion, apparel, or homewares industry.
  • Proven experience in managing supplier relationships with fabric mills, including strategic sourcing, cost negotiations, and performance management.
  • Technical expertise in fabric construction, weaving, knitting, and dyeing processes, as well as deep knowledge of fabric trends and emerging technologies.
  • Deep understanding of fabrics and the production value chain, including fabric types, properties, and technical requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of sustainability and ethical compliance practices in the textile industry, with a demonstrated commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with design, production, and supply chain departments.
