We are a leading integrated manufacturer of titanium dioxide, operating across the globe with a strong presence in Australia.

As part of our Technology & Improvement Department, we are seeking an experienced Asset Improvement Specialist to join our team at our Kwinana Pigment Plant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic management of our assets through the execution of improvement and integrity programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management and execution of asset improvement and integrity projects, including corrosion and concrete remediation programs.
  • Managing and supervising contractors on the execution of remediation programs to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with Tronox SHE policies and standards.
  • Influencing and governing the asset integrity compliance and inspection process, developing and defining methods, processes, and scope of inspection.
  • Providing engineering, structural, and civil-related support to maintenance and production departments, as well as assisting in the development of asset strategies.
  • Aligning computerized maintenance management systems and inspection databases to support our processes.
  • Undertaking fitness for service reviews and Risk-Based Inspections on major equipment.
  • Reviewing and updating engineering standards, as well as developing specifications for equipment and piping.
  • Developing and maintaining a 5-year plan for the business unit.
  • Continuously identifying opportunities for risk and cost reduction in the business.
  • Leading, preparing, and engaging in risk assessments, FMEA, facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major plant detractors.
  • Providing support to capital asset replacement projects and defining asset strategies.
  • Management and execution of complex asset improvement and asset integrity programs and projects.
  • Assisting with maintenance and capital budget development.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A tertiary engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, gained within a mining or fixed plant environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
  • Project management experience.
  • An understanding and implementation of change management processes.
  • Troubleshooting skills to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Experience in predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and condition monitoring.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels within the business.
  • Previous experience managing contractors and consultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
