Role Overview

We're seeking a skilled Asset Improvement Engineer to join our Technology & Improvement Department at the Kwinana Pigment Plant.

This role will oversee the strategic management of our business assets through the execution of improvement and integrity programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our assets perform as desired throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute asset improvement and integrity projects, including corrosion and concrete remediation programs.
  • Lead and supervise contractors on remediation programs, ensuring safe work practices adhere to Tronox's SHE policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement methods for asset integrity compliance and inspection processes.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production departments on engineering-related queries and develop asset strategies as needed.
  • Align computerized maintenance management systems and inspection databases with our processes.
  • Conduct fitness for service reviews and risk-based inspections on major equipment.
  • Review and update engineering standards, developing specifications for equipment and piping.
  • Develop and maintain a 5-year plan for the business unit.
  • Identify opportunities for risk and cost reduction in the business.
  • Lead risk assessments, facilitate root cause analysis, and prepare for capital asset replacement projects.
  • Manage and execute complex asset improvement and asset integrity programs.
About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A tertiary engineering qualification in mechanical engineering.
  • A minimum 5 years of experience in a mining or fixed plant environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Understanding of change management processes and troubleshooting to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Experience in predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, as well as condition monitoring.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Previous experience managing contractors and consultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
