Healthcare Specialist

  • As a Healthcare Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing medical care and support to patients.
  • You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team towards the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Key responsibilities include delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
  • You will be required to provide medical technical advice to commanders and senior officers.
  • Additionally, you may be required to assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide medical services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.
">Required Skills and Qualifications">
  • A degree in Medicine or a related field.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
