Primary Care Professional

A highly skilled Primary Care Professional working with the Australian Defence Force provides essential medical care and support to ADF Members.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to Defence personnel in various settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve shared goals and maintain the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • Offer expert medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Requirements:
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years or part-time equivalent.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
