About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professional to lead our Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) function for the Independent Hardware Group (IHG) in Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Servicing and safeguarding our business in relation to safety, health, and the environment;
  • Driving a positive SHE culture, robust governance, and compliance across IHG TAS sites;
  • Maintaining and continuously improving the SHE Management System as required;
  • Supporting site leaders with SHE engagements, critical risk reviews, incident management, and general SHE matters;
  • Participating in SHE compliance audits, Annual Management Reviews, and preparing monthly performance reports;
  • Facilitating SHE-related training at Tasmanian sites and monitoring incidents.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS or a related discipline;
  • Understanding of Australian and New Zealand safety, health, and environmental legislation;
  • ICAM investigation training and certification;
  • Sound knowledge of warehouse and retail environments;
  • Able to build strong relationships and influence outcomes through collaboration;
  • Encourages and inspires commitment and effort.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around $110,000-$130,000 per annum, based on industry standards for similar positions in Tasmania. This estimate is subject to change and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
