Business Development Leader

About the Role:

As a key member of our sales team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and implementing growth strategies, and building strong relationships with customers. You will collaborate closely with our sales and marketing teams to achieve targets and drive business success.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling to the construction industry and possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. They will be able to build strong and influential relationships, demonstrate good commercial awareness, and have a passion for driving results.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across key industry sectors
  • Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, and product demonstrations
  • Act as a key point of contact for major projects, tenders, and supplier agreements
  • Resolve issues promptly, working with internal teams to ensure high service levels
  • Develop and execute a region sales plan aligned to regional and state growth goals
  • Track and analyse sales metrics, ensuring visibility on progress to targets
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with customers at all levels-site, procurement, and head office
  • Generate leads and drive new business, keep abreast of industry trends, competition, and market conditions

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience selling to the construction industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience using CRM (Salesforce)
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and influential relationships
  • Good commercial awareness with a passion and drive to succeed
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of results
  • Self-motivated, driven and familiar with remote working condition
  • Time management & organisational skills
