You will work closely with executive leadership to ensure operational resilience and foster a proactive risk culture. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the organisation's approach to operational risk, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Establishing and maintaining a structured risk management framework that supports business objectives and enhances resilience.
  • Providing strategic oversight of risk registers, controls, and key risk indicators, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated.
  • Developing and implementing risk initiatives that uplift capability, awareness, and engagement across the organisation.
  • Overseeing business continuity planning, ensuring appropriate safeguards for critical operations and service providers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on risk exposures, incidents, and control effectiveness, providing insights to executive leadership.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance risk governance and operational safeguards.
  • Fostering a strong risk-aware culture by providing leadership, education, and ongoing communication to key teams.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced risk leader with a strong background in financial services and a deep understanding of operational risk frameworks. You will have:
  • 15+ years of experience in insurance or financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior risk leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing operational risk management strategies.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution and problem-solving.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, law, or a related field.
