Regulatory Compliance Manager

Vocus is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements within the energy and telecommunications industry in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Program Management: Monitor and assess compliance with obligations, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and control assurance reviews.
  • Review and determine if compliance risks are breaches to obligations and whether they are reportable based on reporting requirements.
  • Review controls to ensure they are adequate to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and changes in legislation.
Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Create and update compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements or changes.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and trained on compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to internal teams on regulatory compliance matters.
Regulatory Response Management:
  • Manage and prepare submissions/responses to regulatory requests from energy and telecommunications retailers.
  • Ensure that all communications with regulatory bodies are accurate, legally sound, and appropriately documented and submitted within specified deadlines.
  • Review and revise responses in coordination with legal advisors to mitigate any potential legal risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., legal, compliance, finance, operations) to provide guidance and advice on compliance matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors to clarify requirements and address inquiries.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct within the organization.
Training and Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Promote awareness of compliance policies and procedures through various communication channels.
  • Address compliance-related questions and concerns from employees.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the organization's compliance framework.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance compliance effectiveness.
