Job Opportunity: Plant Diseases Specialist

The Department of Biodiversity and Conservation is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Plant Diseases Specialist.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic approaches to managing environmental plant pests and diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive strategies for plant pest and disease management.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality reports, briefings, and correspondence to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to inform advice and recommendations.
  • Develop projects, policies, and guidelines to enhance understanding of plant pest and disease threats.

Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge and experience in plant pest and disease management, or equivalent experience in an allied field.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in effectively liaising with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to work with limited direction.
