The Regional Credit Specialist (RCRS) acts as 2LOR for complex, non-standard, and high-risk transactions. The RCRS advises on workout strategy and restructures within the C&R domain. The role requires the ability to create clarity and structure across diverse strategic, business, and financial-economic aspects. As an RCRS, you will engage with 1LOR and customers to reach solutions and provide quality advice and decisions. The RCRS serves as a senior advisor to Risk leadership and Business Units, offers discipline-specific coaching, and is recognized as an expert. The role involves ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations across the discipline.

You will be based in Sydney, reporting to the Regional Chief Risk Officer, and working closely with underwriting, Collections, Recovery teams, and leadership to safeguard our portfolio and profitability.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  1. Providing functional guidance to countries.
  2. Proposing risk appetite aligned with business objectives.
  3. Managing risk matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Executing business strategy within risk appetite and underwriting criteria.
  5. Approving complex, non-standard applications within delegated authority and recommending to the Regional CRO or Risk Committee.
  6. Preparing funding and NB/FI applications for approval.
  7. Ensuring timely and quality submissions to global risk committees.
  8. Managing credit and risk activities for complex deal structures.
  9. Providing substantiation for business, restructuring, and recovery decisions.
  10. Embracing effective risk management and compliance, including coaching and training.
  11. Building risk capacity and capabilities within country teams.
  12. Overseeing risks through 'in control' statements and implementing supporting systems and processes.

Your profile should include:

  • Academic qualifications in business, finance, or accounting.
  • At least 10 years of experience in banking/finance managing financial and non-financial risks.
  • Extensive experience in complex transaction structuring and credit/risk management.
  • Strong writing skills for credit applications and workout reports.
  • Preferred experience in C&R strategy/workouts and DLL's lines of business.
  • Results-driven, adaptable, collaborative, and influential with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proven coaching and training abilities.
