Geological Expertise: The Heart of Our Exploration Strategy

We are seeking an accomplished Project Geologist to join our team in driving the planning, management, and execution of exploration activities across various technical, HSEC, and administrative aspects.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the Exploration team to conduct comprehensive property-scale delineation, prioritization, and target testing using diverse methods within a greenfield environment. This involves leveraging expertise in geological mapping/logging, geophysical surveys, sampling, and drilling to identify potential opportunities and guide decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bolstering safety leadership by adhering to and promoting safety and environmental rules and procedures, fostering a culture of responsibility and diligence within the team.
• Contributing to the development of exploration programs and budgets, ensuring successful completion within established parameters and aligning with good exploration practices and industry standards.
• Undertaking geological fieldwork under the general direction of Senior Project/Senior Geologist, encompassing geologic mapping/logging, geophysical surveys, sampling, and drilling to collect vital data for informed decision-making.
• Maintaining oversight of logistics, administration, and technical execution of projects with assistance from field technical staff, guaranteeing seamless project delivery.
• Embracing Health, Safety, Environment, and Communities (HSEC) policies and management systems, as guided by the Charter of Corporate Responsibility, Code of Business, Environmental and Health and Safety Practices, and EHS Management Standards.
• Supervising project execution/material risk and hazard factors, taking corrective action as needed to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
• Preparing comprehensive technical reports, maps, and presentation materials that clearly outline target hypotheses, stated objectives, key decision points, results, conclusions, and recommendations with high-level budget estimates.
• Monitoring project budgets daily or weekly/monthly, reporting variance, forecasting, and highlighting significant cost overruns to inform strategic decision-making.
• Spearheading exploration project initiatives, including regional targeting, area selection activities, project management responsibilities, planning, data collection, and integration of geoscience data collection campaigns.
• Fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration, encouraging open communication and a shared commitment to excellence within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A degree in geoscience or a related field, along with relevant experience; advanced degrees considered advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in geoscience, including exposure to mineral exploration in greenfields and/or brownfields environments.
• Excellent written and oral English communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse individuals.
• A proven track record of positively leading small teams, managing performance, and organizational skills.
• Basic experience with general management practices in applied technical environments.
• Experience working on magmatic-hydrothermal and/or sediment-hosted ore-forming systems and understanding of economic geology, orebody genesis, and exploration methods.
• Ability to adapt to various scales, guiding exploration activities, collecting and interpreting data with deposit to district scales understanding.
• Solid understanding of one or more ore deposit types in copper, nickel, +/- zinc.
• Experience in community and government relations issues.
• Proficient experience with GIS and geological software.
