About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Coordinator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for welcoming and directing patients, answering and screening phone calls, and checking patients in and out. Additionally, they will collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and outstanding balances.

This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare setting and be proficient in using electronic medical records software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promptly answer and direct all incoming phone calls to the appropriate area.
  • Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify and update patient demographics.
  • Obtain, confirm, and enter patient insurance information.
  • Schedule patients according to clinic protocol and guidelines.
  • Prepare charts and print encounter tickets prior to patient visit.
  • Confirm appointments and document responses in EMR.
  • Receive and upload laboratory, imaging, and other procedural results into the patient's e-chart.
  • Collect outstanding balances, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
  • Reconcile the cash drawer as per hospital Business Office guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School education or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in using electronic medical records software.
