Public Engagement Leader
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing has a key role in creating opportunities for all Victorians to live safe, respected and valued lives. Our focus areas include child protection, housing, disability, preventing family violence, multicultural affairs, LGBTQI+ equality, veterans, women and youth.
We work across various community settings, including people's homes, residential facilities and secure locations throughout metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria.
This high-level advisory role works closely with ministers, departmental senior management, and external stakeholders on strategic communications and media matters.
The Public Engagement Leader oversees the development and implementation of effective communication and media strategies, standards, channels and products.
- Drive the delivery of a responsive and proactive communication and media function that meets departmental objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction in overseeing branch business and strategic planning processes.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and respond to crisis events.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities and strategic thinking.
The department may require employees to be fully vaccinated against preventable diseases like COVID-19.
