About the Health Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated health professional to provide technical expertise in injury prevention, injury management, fitness for work, rehabilitation and return to work processes.

This role will coordinate case management with stakeholders, provide support for regulatory health surveillance activities and reporting, and deliver health promotion initiatives.

  • Coordinates medical and allied health providers to ensure optimal care and outcomes for workers.
  • Provides support for the development of suitable duties plans and associated documents.
  • Leads behavioural-based observations, offering support and technical guidance to staff.
  • Maintains health enterprise systems, data integrity and document management.
  • Supports site medical services, including paramedics, EAP, physiotherapy and occupational physicians.
Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline with registration from a relevant body.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and coach varied levels of stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Experience working in a large complex environment within mining or heavy industry, with underground operational experience preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of Queensland workers' compensation process and RRTWC course completion.
  • Knowledge of QLD coal mining health and safety legislation.
  • Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene and membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) would be advantageous.
