Job Role: Operational Risk Manager/Senior Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our Global Markets team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the markets facing business groups manage their risk profile through the continual refinement and implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent oversight of the operational risk profile of Macquarie's markets facing businesses
  • Review and evaluate new business initiatives, ensuring key operational risks are identified and managed
  • Analyse operational risk data to identify risk themes and facilitate improved risk management
  • Provide insights and advice to the business on best practice for design, measurement, analysis and reporting of operational risk
  • Assist in compiling responses to requests from stakeholders including Regulators, Auditors and Senior Management
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in Operational Risk, Internal or External Audit gained within an international financial institution or financial services firm
  • Experience in financial markets and/or commodities trading and financing
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Macquarie operates
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Tertiary degree in Finance or a related area
  • Relevant postgraduate degrees or professional qualifications (CA, CFA, CPA, FRM) are valuable
