Environmental Waste Manager

As a seasoned environmental professional, you will drive best-practice waste management across aquaculture operations and position the business for success through delivering exceptional environmental performance.

  • Manage environmental waste data with accuracy and timeliness to support regulatory compliance and informed decision-making.

  • Centralise waste management systems by integrating processes across salmon, prawn, and barramundi operations.

  • Advance circular economy initiatives that enhance resource recovery, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency in line with sustainability goals.

  • Lead enterprise-wide collaboration on strategic waste initiatives and facilitate the implementation of Responsible Business Waste Working Group projects.

  • Support Environmental Management System (EMS) development, implementation, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee contractor performance in waste and environmental compliance activities.

  • Engage with regulators and represent the company professionally while ensuring compliance.

  • Conduct site inspections to monitor environmental performance, identify risks, and ensure adherence to waste management protocols.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in science, environmental science, environmental engineering or similar. Extensive experience in waste management delivery may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

  • 2 to 3 years' experience in an environmental or waste management role.

  • Driver's licence and reliable transport for travel between operational sites in Tasmania as required.

  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems implementation is desirable.

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
