Civil Project Engineer Role Overview
This civil project engineer position involves managing the design, construction, and maintenance of critical infrastructure across water and power sectors.
The team works on various projects including power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment plants, and water pipelines.
The position requires collaboration and growth, offering a clear path for career development. The role is based in Perth with DIDO to the project site at Three Springs.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement detailed project plans, work schedules, and methodologies for civil works ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and scope.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts providing engineering input to ensure compliance with industry standards, requirements, and client expectations.
- Oversee on-site civil construction activities ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards manage subcontractor performance and resolve site issues as they arise.
- Promote and enforce health safety and environmental policies and procedures across all civil project activities ensuring risk assessments and safety measures are effectively implemented.
- Liaise with clients internal teams and external stakeholders to provide regular updates manage expectations and address engineering or construction challenges prepare and deliver progress reports and technical documentation.
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia or equivalent.
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering works in infrastructure utilities or construction projects ideally within a multi-disciplinary or contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of civil design principles construction methodologies and relevant Australian standards with the ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to health safety environmental and quality standards with experience implementing and maintaining compliance on project sites.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with internal teams clients and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
