Food Safety and Quality Manager

Job Role:

This is an important role that ensures our amazing fresh produce meets food safety and quality standards.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for managing the quality of incoming and outgoing produce to ensure it conforms to established specifications of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting stock both incoming and outgoing to ensure required quality standards are adhered to.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports.
  • Recording errors, identifying potential causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Managing retention sampling program.
  • Conducting daily scale calibration.
  • Conducting daily and weekly chemical concentration checks and weekly chemical inventory.
  • Conducting weekly and monthly environmental swabs.
  • Conducting monthly pest control audit.
  • Reporting all food safety and sanitation issues to immediate supervisor.
  • Liaising and communicating with Production Team, Technical Quality Team and other Managers as required.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail & computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills.
  • Practical knowledge and experience working in a warehouse/distribution facility.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to comply with and support workplace health and safety requirements.
  • HACCP Awareness would be well regarded.
